Now in Communion with Catholic Episcopal Church

Writer: Fr. SeamusFr. Seamus

The Community of Anthony announces with great joy, that it now shares Communion with The Catholic Episcopal Church

Our Abbot/Bishop Seamus joined Archbishop Mario Santos and fellow Bishops Ulrich Schwab and Ashley Beckham, in adding his Signature and Episcopal Seal to a document dated

21st February 2025, which declared our intention not to establish a new denomination, but to continue in upholding the continuous apostolicity of the Holy Catholic Apostolic Church.

The Catholic Episcopal Church was born.

In an era when there are already too many small vetero catholic churches, we aim to follow closely the example of the earliest church, (known as The Way), where no single individual held totalitarian power or imposed their will over others.

All decisions were made after much discussion, allowing each person a voice, with final agreement in unison of all the members.

All our church members are regarded as equal, irrespective of sex, ethnicity, or sexuality.

Each individual church, though part of The Body, enjoys autonomy, allowing it to incorporate the customs and traditions of its people.

We follow the teachings of the Early Church mothers and fathers.

Celebrate all Seven Sacraments of the Western Catholic tradition.

Can trace our Apostolic Succession back to the original Disciples of Jesus of Nazareth bringing validity to those Sacraments.

The Church in Ireland, just like The Community of Anthony, will remain non-hierarchical and each of its small parish communities, guided by an elected council, will remain autonomous.

The efforts of every individual parish member will be seen as equal, in building up the Body of Christ, whether Laity, Deacon, Priest or Bishop. Each has their individual role and ALL ARE EQUAL.

We hope to reach out to those other small groups to form inter-communions, leading towards a unified body.
